Traditional Living Room with a Twist

This client wanted to be nudged a little out of his comfort zone but his preferences were strongly rooted in traditional design references. Therefore the challenge was to ensure he still felt at home but to add originality and a bit of fun to the room. The selected artwork sums this up perfectly with its traditional style and playful narrative.

Keeping the walls a classic cream with sandy undertones adds a classy yet cosy feel while the dark rug grounds the space and adds some much needed gravitas. Panelling the walls adds a decadence that contrasts with the informal layout and some pops of mid century furniture keep the space feeling eclectic.

This is an e-design client who now has all they need to implement this scheme… let’s see how they do…
