The Snug

This project transformed what some might view as an awkwardly shaped room into a warm, inviting snug that serves as the perfect family TV room. Located just off the main kitchen area, the room is designed to be seamlessly integrated with the kitchen and dining space, making it both a visible and integral part of the home’s flow. The room is flooded with natural light during the day, creating a bright and airy atmosphere, while in the evening, it becomes a cozy retreat. The design emphasises comfort and cohesiveness, ensuring that the space feels like a natural extension of the adjacent areas.
The heart of this project lies in the thoughtful selection of fabrics and textures. The custom sofa was reupholstered to enhance comfort, while a richly textured rug was added to create a cosy foundation for the room. A large ottoman serves as both a coffee table and footstool, providing a soft, functional centrepiece that complements the room's snug aesthetic. Handmade blinds featuring a subtle geometric pattern add visual interest without overshadowing the room's beautiful windows. Every element, from the textiles to the furnishings, was chosen to create a space that is both inviting and stylish, making it the ideal spot for family relaxation.
